3, Issue 9
The 2008-2009 Pace University athletics season is officially
over as the baseball, softball, golf, and track seasons came to an
end this week. Baseball lost two of their last three games as they
just missed getting into the playoffs. Softball did qualify for the
playoffs but lost in the first round to SCSU.

3, Issue 8
The spring athletics season is winding down as Softball
prepares for the playoffs, while Baseball is trying to make a late
push to try to get in to the playoffs. Softball went 3-5 last week,
and are currently the #6 heading into the playoffs. Baseball went
1-3 last week, and are two games out of the final playoff spot.
Lacrosse's season is officially over as they went 1-1 in their
final week of the year.

Baseball and Softball led the way this week as both teams
played a good amount of games, and had good weeks. The Softball
team went 6-4, and the baseball team went 4-2. The Women's tennis
season is officially over but they won their only match of the
week. Men's Lacrosse had a tough week going 0-2.

Bad weather was the theme for last week's sports as all the
Pace sports are fighting through the elements this season. Softball
went 1-3 on the week with several rainouts. Baseball had a good
week going 3-3. Lacrosse went 0-2 on the week, and women's tennis
wrapped up the action going 1-0 for the week.

The Softball team had a busy week playing eight games
going 4-4 in those games. Baseball had a tough week going 2-4.
Lacrosse went 1-1 in the week which included a heartbreaker to
Saint Michael's. The men's and women's tennis teams went
0-2 for the week, and the men's season is now over but the
women still have two more matches remaining.

The Pace University baseball team went 3-2 on the week as
they were the only team with a winning record for the week. The
Lacrosse team had a slow week losing its only game to #2 ranked Le
Moyne College. The softball team went 2-4 for the week, but
ended the week well winning two conference games over Saint
Michael's. The men's and women's tennis teams went 1-1 in their
week as well.

With the softball team starting up their season all Pace
University spring sports have officially started. The softball team
started their season down in Florida, and their record is 5-2 so
far on the young season. Baseball had a busy week this week as well
going 2-3 for the week. Lacrosse went 1-1 on the week, which
included their first conference win of the season over Southern New
Hampshire.

The baseball team led the way in a busy week for spring
sports at Pace University. The baseball team played in seven games
last week going 2-4-1 in those games. Men's Lacrosse was in action
as well as they went 1-1 for the week. The men's and women's tennis
team's battled Franklin Pierce on Friday and both teams won giving
each team their first wins of the year.

Spring sports have officially taken over at Pace
University as Baseball and Lacrosse are fully into their schedules,
while Women's Basketball is now over to end all winter sports.
Baseball went 0-3 on their trip to Mississippi to play Delta State.
Lacrosse dropped their season opener to Wheeling
Jesuit University 10-4. Men's and Women's Tennis both fell to
Southern New Hampshire. Women's basketball had their season come to
an end with a 60-41 loss to American International College in the
quarterfinals of the NE-10 Tournament.

2, Issue 13
The Pace winter sports are ending, and the spring sports are
starting up, which equaled a very busy week for Pace Athletics. The
Men's Basketball team went 0-2 for the week, and their season is
now over. Women's Basketball went 2-1 for the week, and they are
still in their conference tournament. Baseball started up winning
two of their first three games over Saint Thomas Aquinas College.
Men's and Women's tennis are now into their spring schedule with
both teams going 0-1 for the week.

2, Issue 12
The Pace University men's and women's basketball teams
each played two games this week against the class of the
NE-10. Both teams played on the road on Wednesday against
Stonehill, and played on the road again on Saturday against
Bentley. The men went 0-2 for the week, and
currently occupy the last seed in the NE-10 Tournament. The
women went 1-1 on the week which puts them in a tie for the five
seed in the NE-10 Tournament.

2, Issue 11
The basketball season is coming to an end as we enter
the final weeks with both Pace teams fighting for tournament
seeding. The women are currently in fifth in the
conference after a 2-0 week, which included wins over Saint
Anslem and Merrimack. The men are fighting for the #11 seed in
the tournament after a 1-1 week with a great win over Saint
Anslem, and a tough loss to Merrimack.

The men's and women's basketball teams each played two
games this week. Both teams travelled to Syracuse to play Le Moyne,
and then came back home to host Saint Michael's. The two teams both
fell to Le Moyne, while both posted solid wins against Saint
Michael's at home. This is the second week in a row where both
teams went 1-1 in the week.

The Pace University men's and women's basketball teams
played two games each this week. Both teams played at home on
Wednesday against Southern Connecticut, and both were on the road
on Saturday against Saint Rose. The men and women went 1-1 on the
week with both teams winning their games
at home, but both teams went on to lose on the
road.

The men's and women's basketball teams hit the road last
weekend as they travelled to New Hampshire and Massachusetts for
two key conference match-ups. The women went 1-1 on the weekend
losing to Southern New Hampshire, while beating Merrimack College.
The men went 0-2 for the weekend.

2, Issue 7
The Pace University men's and women's basketball teams
played the class of the Northeast-10 this week. Both teams faced
off against conference power Bentley, and nationally ranked
Stonehill. The women went 1-1 on the week beating Bentley but
falling to 17th ranked Stonehill. The men went 0-2 losing to
Bentley, and lost at the buzzer to 13th ranked
Stonehill.

2, Issue 6
Pace University had a jam-packed week of basketball this
week as the men's and women's basketball teams both played
three games each. Both teams had two home games against Assumption
and UMass Lowell, while they also both took a trip
to New Hampshire to play Franklin Pierce. The women went 2-1
on the week, while the men went 0-3. The women won both of their
home games to push their home record this season to 8-0.

2, Issue 5
Pace University just finished hosting the Holliday
Basketball Tournament where the men's and women's team both played
two games in the tournament. The women's team went 2-0 in the
tournament, and Brittany Shields was the tournament MVP. The men's
team went 1-1 in the tournament with Laurence McGhee
and Carlos Howard making the All-Tournament Team.
Both teams also hosted the University of New Haven
on Saturday, and this time both teams came out with solid
wins.

2, Issue 4
Men's and Women's Basketball had a full slate of games this week as
both teams were on the road in Massachusetts, and home in Manhattan
for a game at the city campus. Both teams went 1-1 on the
week with both teams losing at American International College. The
highlight was both teams winning their games vs. Le Moyne College
on the city campus which marks the first double-header on the city
campus since the Goldstein Fitness Center was built in
2002. The Swimming and Diving teams were back in action as
they competed in the Northeast-10 championships. The teams combined
to break 17 school records.

The Pace University men's and women's basketball teams were back on
the court last week. The men went 2-0 for the week, and both wins
were in conference play. The women's basketball team went 1-1
on the week with both games in-conference as well. The highlight of
the week for Pace is that both teams won their home openers on
Sunday against Saint Rose College. This marks the first time
that both basketball teams won their home opener's since
the 2005-06 season.

Basketball season is officially underway for Pace University
as the men's and women's basketball teams were in action last
week. The men went 1-2 on the week playing all their games on
the road. The week mostly featured out of conference
action as the Setters played two non-conference games in
the Molloy College Tournament. The women went 1-0 on the week as
they went on the road to win their conference and season opener at
Saint Anselm College.

2, Issue 1
With the fall season in the books the last order of
business are the All-Conference awards for football and
volleyball. The Setters had eight players get awards with
six in football, and two in volleyball respectively. With fall
ending, the winter season is set to begin, which means
basketball is back at Pace University. The men and women open the
season at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire on Wednesday.
The first home games this season are on November 30th as
the men and women take on Saint Rose in a
double-header.

1, Issue 7
The Pace University football team ended their season with a
tough loss at home against Saint Anslem this
weekend with the score of 28-14. Nathaniel Ford had another
career day, gaining 191 yards on the ground on only 25 carries.
Women's volleyball also ended their season as well this week going
1-2. The Setters lost two tough matches to Southern New Hampshire
and Southern Connecticut, but finished the season strong with a 3-0
win over Saint Michael's. The men's and women's swimming and
diving teams had a busy week with events against Mount Saint
Mary, York, and Adelphi. The men's swimming team went 1-2 on the
week, and the women finished up at 2-1.

In football action this week, Pace lost a heartbreaker to fellow
Northeast 10 Conference rival Bentley 24-20. Nathaniel Ford had a
career day for the Setters, gaining 163 yards on the ground in a
losing effort. Women's Volleyball was also in action as they fell
on the road to Le Moyne in five games 3-2. The Men's and
Women's Swimming teams continued their solid season as
the women beat Lehman College 107-74, while the
men lost to Lehman 126.5-87.5.

The Pace football team lost a hard fought game to Northeast 10
Coference rival Southern Connecticut 40-17. Women's Soccer ended
their season this week on a tough note losing their
final two games, one of which came in overtime. Women's
Volleyball in its stretch run lost two games last week in tough
contests against Bentley and American International. Men's and
Women's Swimming teams were back in the pool as they had solid
placements in meets at the College of Staten Island and the Bentley
Invitational.

In football action this week, Pace dropped its first Northeast 10
Conference game, losing at home to Merrimack 31-28. Women's
volleyball played three matches over the past weekend. They opened
with a win over NE-10 member Stonehill, but dropped the last
two matches to New Haven and NYIT respectively. Women's soccer was
in action twice this week as well, losing 5-0 decisions against
LeMoyne and Franklin Pierce.

In football, Pace played in The Battle for Westchester this past
weekend and lost a heartbreaker to Iona 30-26 dropping their record
to 3-1 on the season. In soccer, Pace dropped a tough 1-0 decision
to UMass Lowell. The loss ended the Setters' two game home winning
streak and dropped their record to 2-5 overall. Women's Volleyball
earned a victory this when they cruised past Dominican College 3-0.
With the win the Setters improve their record to 9-3 overall.

In football, the Pace football team blocked a field goal
attempt by Saint Anselm with under one minute to play as the
Setters escaped with a thrilling come-from-behind victory over the
Hawks 15-14 improving their record to 3-0 on the season. In Women's
Soccer, the Setters are now 2-0 at home after beating American
International College 3-1. In Women's Volleyball, the Setters had
another successful week going 2-0. Pace beat UMass Lowell and
St. Anselm by scores of 3-1 and 3-0 respectively.

In football, quarterback Ray Gregg threw a 21-yard
touchdown pass with 1.7 seconds left in the game to lift the
Setters to a thrilling come-from-behind victory over the Skyhawks
of Stonehill College 28-24, bringing the team to 2-0. In Women's
Soccer, freshman Mariah Darrah scored in the sixth minute of double
overtime to lift the Setters to a 1-0 over the Purple Knights of
St. Michael's for their first win of the season. In Women's
Volleyball, the Setters had a busy week going 3-0 beating
Bloomfield, Felician, and Mercy College respectively with
identical 3-0 outcomes.
