LISCINSKY AND COTONE NAMED TO NE-10 ALL-CONFERENCE TEAMS
PLEASANTVILLE, NY - The Pace University baseball team had two players receive NE-10 Baseball All-Conference honors for the 2009 season. Senior shortstop Andre Liscinsky (Trumbull, CT/Trumbull) led the way for the Setters being named to the First Team NE-10 All-Conference, and senior outfielder Joe Cotone (Yorktown Heights, NY/Lakeland) was named to the Third Team NE-10 All-Conference.
Liscinsky finished the season leading the Setters in several different categories as he had an outstanding senior year for Pace. He led the team in average at .305, runs scored with 30, and triples with two. He finished the year tied for seventh in hits in the NE-10 with 60. He will end his Pace career ranking 4th in school history in total career hits with 214, which puts him as one of six players in school history with over 200 career hits.
Cotone, after he came to Pace from UMass Amherst, had a great two years as a Pace University Setter. Cotone finished the 2009 season leading the team in RBI's with 30, homeruns with three, and total bases with 78. His 15 doubles on the year put him in a tie for third most in the NE-10 for the season.
Assumption College took two of the three major awards for the 2009 season as Mike Baillargeon was named NE-10 Player of the Year, and the Greyhounds coach George Reidy was the NE-10 Coach of the Year. Franklin Pierce's Kyle Vazquez was named the NE-10 Pitcher of the Year as he helped the Ravens win the NE-10 Championship.
