JONES AND LaMONICA
HIGHLIGHT 2008 FALL NE-10
ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
SOUTH EASTON, MA- The Pace University football team had
two of its members selected to be named to the 2008 NE-10 Fall
All-Academic Team.
Senior defensive back Jonathan Jones (Dover, N.H./Bridgton Academy) led the way for Pace as he posted 3.33 GPA with a major in Business Management. The second player being honored is Junior linebacker Michael LaMonica (Beachwood, NJ/Toms River South) who had a 3.31 GPA with a major in Computer Science.
Jones was also named to the NE-10 Second-Team All Defense this season for the second consecutive year. Jones finished the year totaling 69 tackles, three interceptions which was tied for 1st on the team, and a fumble recovery. LaMonica had a career year in his junior season finishing with a career-high 65 tackles, and 3.5 tackles for loss.
Bentley University and Stonehill College featured the most student-athletes selected to All-Northeast-10 Academic teams with ten players.
The Pace University football team finished their season at 4-6, and 3-4 in the NE-10. This is the best record the football team has finished with since the 2001 season when the Setters finished at 4-5 for the season.
