FOR PACE ON THE
NORTHEAST-10 FOOTBALL ALL-CONFERENCE

SIX SETTERS LAND ALL-CONFERENCE AWARDS
SOUTH EASTON, MA- The Pace University football team had six of its players named to the 2008 Northeast-10 Football All-Conference Teams. The lone first teamer was senior Lee Robinson (New Milford, CT/New Milford) who was named to the First-Team all defense. He finished the season with a team leading 77 tackles which was 9th in the conference, three sacks, and four forced fumbles put him tied for 1st in the conference in that category.
Nathaniel Ford (Queens, NY/Jamaica) and Andrew Kulak (Wolcott, CT/Wolcott) led the way for the Setters offensive unit as they were both named to the Second-Team Offense. Ford had a career year for the Setters as he racked up 816 yards rushing, which was 3rd best in the conference, to go along with six touchdowns. Kulak also had a fine season for the Setters offense as he totaled 26 catches for 304 yards, and two touchdowns.
The Setters defense had two more members who were honored as Greg Brain (Westtown, NY/Minisink Valley), and Jonathan Jones (Dover, NH/ Bridgton Academy) got named to the Second-Team Defense. Brain put up solid numbers for Pace this season as he amassed 76 tackles which was 2nd on the team, three interceptions which was tied for 1st on the team, and four pass break-ups. Jones has made second team in back to back years for Pace, and in his senior season he totaled 69 tackles, three interceptions which was tied for 1st on the team, and a fumble recovery.
Pace University's football team also had a special teams member be honored as freshman kicker Ali Mourtada (Foxboro, MA/Foxboro) was named to the All Rookie Team. Mourtada had a solid rookie season as he was 6-11 in field goals made this season, 24-27 in extra points made which was fourth best in the conference, and he punted for 2,089 yards.
The major awards for the conference were swept by American International College, and Southern Connecticut State University. The MVP of the conference was wide receiver Travis Poole from American, the Offensive Player of the Year was running back John Wiechman from Southern Connecticut, and the Defensive Player of the Year was linebacker Jerome Pickney from Southern Connecticut.
