SETTERS' SPRING GAME SET FOR SATURDAY, APRIL 18th at 10:30 AM
PLEASANTVILLE, NY - The Pace University football team will wrap up its spring season Saturday, April 18 when they hold their annual Spring Game at Pace Field in Pleasantville. The game will kick off at 10:30 a.m. and will showcase the returning nucleus of a much improved Setter squad.
The game itself will consist of approximately an hour and a half of scrimmage time between the offensive and defensive units. The Setter offense comes off a year in which they more than doubled their total yardage output from the previous season and returns 10 of their 11 starters from 2008. The highly touted defense will be as ferocious as ever, returning 6 starters and featuring a number of transfers from Iona College. Head Coach Mike Iezzi and the rest of the coaching staff are pleased with the teams' effort so far this spring and feel that this group has the potential to contend for the Northeast-10 title in the fall.
Following the game, fans are encouraged to stick around for a team barbecue. The barbecue will give Setter fans an opportunity to meet the coaches and all the members of the 2009 Pace football team.
During the game, donations will be accepted for Pace University's first annual Relay for Life, which will be taking place on Friday, May 1st, and Saturday, May 2nd, to promote cancer awareness and raise money for cancer research.
