GCAA ANNOUNCES DIVISION II
PING ALL-REGION TEAMS
Mike Dominici Named to Northeast All-Region Team
NORMAN, OK - Senior Mike Dominici (Norwalk, CT/BMHS) has been named to the Division II PING All-Region Northeast Team, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The All-Region teams are selected based on outstanding season play. The 10 All-Region teams consist of 10 players and are selected by GCAA all-region committees. Any player ranked in the top 50 of the final Golfstat individual ranking is automatically added to his all-region team. Members of the PING All-Region teams are eligible for PING All-America honors.
Dominici led the Pace University men's golf team to a second place finish in the eight-team Northeast Regional of the 2008 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships, shooting a +15 228 (83-73-72) to finish tied for fourth place in the individual field of 45 golfers. The Setters shot a +65 917 (303-302-312) for the three-day regional, falling just one stroke behind Northeast-10 Conference foe Bryant University, who shot a +64 916 (300-303-313) to win the regional and advance to the championship finals.
Dominici averaged a 76.85 over 26 rounds of golf in 12 events
this season for Pace, posting four top-five finishes including a
pair of first place finishes at the Charger Challenge hosted by
Dominican College and the Pace University Invitational.
