MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING TEAMS COMPETE IN
RAMAPO INVITATIONAL

 
RAMAPO, NJ- The Pace University men's and women's swimming and diving teams swam against Bridgeport University, and Ramapo College in the Ramapo Invitational. The women's team lost to Bridgeport 51-26 and Ramapo 44-39, while the men's team lost to Ramapo 112-61.

On the women's side Callie Grace (Dalton, MA/Miss Hall's) led the way for Pace as she took home a first and second place finish on the afternoon. Grace's first place finish came in the 200Y Breaststroke as she finished with a time of 2:39.44. Her second place finish came in the 50Y Freestyle as she clocked in with a time of 26.06 which was .35 seconds behind the leader. The Setters also got a solid performance from Erin Johanson (Wakefield, MA/Wakefield) who posted a first and third place finish for Pace. Johanson took first in the 500Y Freestyle with a time of 5:49.01, and she took third in the 100Y Freestyle event.

In men's action, leading the way for the Setters was senior Trevor Paugh (Wantage, NJ/High Point Regional) as he finished the day with two first place finishes. Paugh took first in the 200Y Butterfly with a time of 2:16.37, and he also took home another first place finish in the 200Y Breaststroke with a time of 2:25.06. Pace also got a good day from Paugh's classmate Peter Byrnes (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Valley West) who finished with a first and second place finish on the day. Byrnes took home his lone first place finish in the 500Y Freestyle with a time of 5:26.02, and he took second in the 100Y Freestyle event.

The men's team will get back in the pool on Saturday, February 14 as they will travel to Vassar College to compete in the Vassar Sprint. The meet is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
