MEN'S SWIMMING PLACES 8TH,
WOMEN TAKE 6TH AT BENTLEY INVITATIONAL
CASSANDRA GENTILE SWEEPS DIVING EVENTS
WALTHAM, MA- The Pace women's swimming team finished in sixth place, while the men's team took eighth place at the Bentley Invitational this past weekend. Cassandra Gentile (Cortland Manor, NY/Walter Panas) swept the diving, taking home first place in the 1-meter and 3-meter events.
In the 400-medley relay, the quartet of Erin Johanson (Wakefield, MA/Wakefield), Callie Grace (Dalton, MA/Miss Halls), Chelsea Oberhauser (Cream Ridge, NJ/Notre Dame), and Laura Carvajal (Norwalk, CT/Brien McMahon) took sixth place with a time of 4:27.11. Oberhauser would later take third place in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:18.83 and pace fourth in the 50-freestyle posting a time of 27.22. Grace had a strong showing with a fifth place finish in the 100-freestyle with a time of 57.70 and took eighth place in the 200-IM with a time of 2:19.35. Johanson swam to a fourth place finish in the 200-backstroke with a time of 2:19.35.
On the men's side, the Craig McClintock (Valhalla, NY/Valhalla) took eighth place in the 200-backstroke with a time of 2:13.07. Trevor Paugh (Wantage, NJ/High Point Regional) finished in eighth place in the 200-breaststroke with a time of 2:27.78.
Pace returns to action when they travel to the Bronx, NY for a dual meet againt Lehman College on Saturday, November 1 at 1:00 pm.
