PACE UNIVERSITY SWIM TEAMS BOTH GET SUNK BY ADELPHI
PLEASANTVILLE, NY- The Pace University men's and women's
swimming and diving teams lost to Adelphi University by the scores
of 89-59 for the men, and 109-82 in women respectively. With the
losses the women's team drops their overall record to 4-1, and the
men fall to 1-4.
The Setter men were led by Trevor Paugh (Wantage, NY/High Point Regional) who finished 1st in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:06.04. Pace also got a solid day from William King (Oakdale, NY/Connetquot) who put together two second place finishes in the 200 Freestyle, and the 100 Freestyle. The only other first place finish for the men on the day came in the form of the 200 Medley Relay team event. Paugh, King, Craig McClintock (Valhalla, NY/Valhalla), and John Nelson (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Waller Panas) finished with a time of 1:53.63.
On the women's side, they were led by freshman Chelsea Oberhauser (Cream Ridge, NJ/Notre Dame) who finished the day with two first place finishes in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 27.01, and the 100 Backstroke with a great time of 1:04.36. The Setters also got a solid performance from Callie Grace (Dalton, MA/Miss Hall's) as she had a first place finish in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:12.81, and a second place finish in the 100 Butterfly at 1:07.21. Pace picked up another first place finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay as the team of Oberhauser, Grace, Laura Carvajal (Norwalk, CT/Brien McMahon), and Erin Johanson (Wakefield, MA/Wakefield) put up a time of 1:49.21.
The Pace University swimming teams don't get back in the pool until the Notheast-10 Conference Championships which start Friday December 5th at Southern Connecticut State University.
