Setters show strength in field events at the Osprey Invitational

POMONA, NJ- The Pace University Track & Field team traveled to Stockton College in Pomona, New Jersey for the Osprey Invitational.  In a meet packed with talent on top teams from New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania the Setters had a solid day.

Two of Pace's women posted 8th place finishes, one in the 5K race and another in the Long Jump.  Senior Erica Young turned her first 5k time of the season with a 22.24.13.  And Safia McNeishie put her first jump of the year in the books with a jump of 4.87m (15' 11.75").

For the Men, Freshmen Dan Carpenter placed high in both the Shot Put and Javelin throws.  With a throw of 13.45m (44' 1 1/2") in the shot put Dan finished in 6th place.  For a 5th place finish Dan threw his javelin 48.90m (160' 5").

The rest of the team made some improvements but were overshadowed by the level of competition at the Osprey Invitational.  Next week the Setters travel to Middletown, CT to compete at the Swanson Invitational hosted by Wesleyan University.
