WOMEN"S SOCCER FALLS TO UMASS LOWELL, 1-0

BRIARCLIFF, NY- Senior Natalia Mendoza slipped a shot by Pace Goalie Breanna Gault (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta/SUNY-Delhi) in the 77th minute of play to give The River Hawks of UMass Lowell a 1-0 victory. The loss drops The Setters to (2-5-0, 2-4-0 NE-10) while UMass Lowell improves to (4-2-3, 3-1-3 NE-10).

The Setters had some excellent scoring chances in the first half both coming from Freshman Allyson Dyl (Kearny, NJ/Kearny). Dyl's first attempt came off a free kick in the 17th minute when she fired a shot over the UMass Lowell wall that slamed off the crossbar. Dyl, undeterred, came back just a few minutes later in the 20th minute with another shot from very far out that again slammed into the crossbar much to the dismay of The Setter bench.

UMass Lowell goalie Jamie Gillis had two saves on the day, while Gault kept The Setters in the game with eight saves of her own.

Pace returns to action this Wednesday, October 1st when they travel up to Syracuse, NY to face off against Le Moyne College at 4:00 pm.
