WOMEN'S SOCCER DROPS NE-10 GAME TO FRANKLIN PIERCE
BRIARCLIFF, NY - The Pace women's soccer team lost to the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University 5-0 in a Northeast-10 game this afternoon. The Setters drop to 2-7-0 overall and 2-6-0 in the NE-10, while the Ravens improve to 7-2-1 and 5-2-1 in conference play.
The Ravens' Angelika Johansson notched a first half hat trick to key an early lead by Franklin Pierce. Gabriela Demoner and Kelly Johnson would each net a goal late in the second half to account for the final scoring for the Ravens on the day.
The Setters posted six shots on the day, compared to Franklin Pierce's 17, while the Ravens held the advantage on corner kicks 9-1.
Setter goalkeeper Breanna Gault (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) went the distance, allowing five goals, while recording sevens saves. Gault's counterpart Brittany Ester also played 90 minutes, tallying three saves.
The Setters return to action on Tuesday, October 7 when they travel to New Haven, CT to take on Southern Connecticut State in a Northeast-10 Conference game scheduled for 7:00 pm.
