WOMEN'S SOCCER LOSES TO SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT
NEW HAVEN, CT - The Pace women's soccer team lost to the Owls of Southern Connecticut 5-0 in Northeast-10 Conference this evening. The Setters drop to 2-8-0 overall and 2-7-0 in the NE-10, while the Owls improve to 7-3-1 and 5-2-1 in conference play.
The Owls' Danielle MacMurray netted the first goal at the 20-minute mark, while Hailey Huntington would net Southern Connecticut's second goal in the 33rd minute. The Owls would add three goals in the second half to account for the final score.
The Setters posted five shots on the day, compared to Southern Connecticut's 21, while the Owls held the advantage on corner kicks 3-2.
Setter goalkeeper Breanna Gault (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) went the 70+ minutes guarding the pipes, allowing three goals and posting four saves. Monique Morey (Port Orchard, WA/South Kitsap) came on in relief, finishing out the final 19+ minutes, allowing a pair of goals.
The Setters return to action on Saturday, October 11 when they host Saint Anselm College in a Northeast-10 Conference game scheduled for 3:00 pm at Pace's Briarcliff campus.
