WOMEN'S SOCCER LOSES TO BENTLEY 4-1

WALTHAM, MA- The Pace women's soccer team fell to the Falcons of Bentley University, 4-1 in Northeast-10 action this afternoon. The Setters drop to 2-11-0 overall and 2-10-0 in the NE-10, while the Falcons improve to 4-11-1 and 2-8-1 in conference play.

Bentley struck first as Cheryl Boyd scored on a penalty kick in the 13th minute of play. The Setters would rally to knot the score at one as Allyson Dyl (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) would score off an assist by Cynthia Mendoza (Costa Mesa, CA/Costa Mesa).

The Falcons would take the lead in the second half, netting three goals, with Leah Leavitt being credited with the eventual game-winning goal in the 70th minutes. Bentley would tack on a pair of goals later in the half for the final difference.

Setter goalkeeper Breanna Gault (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) went the distance, allowing four goals and recording eight saves, while Bentley goal Kara Smith posted seven saves in 90 minutes of action.

The Setters return to action on Monday, October 20 when they host LIU-C.W. Post in non-conference action at Pace Field on the Briarcliff campus at 3 pm.
