SETTERS FALL TO SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE IN OVERTIME

BRAIRCLIFF, NY- Southern New Hampshire's Ariel Teixeira goal nearly four minutes into overtime handed the Setters a heartbreaking loss on senior day. The Setters drop to 2-12-2 overall and 2-11-0 in the NE-10, while the Penmen improve to 8-4-3 overall and 7-4-2 in conference play.

The Penmen would net the lone goal of the opening half as Sophia St. Paul tallied her eighth goal of the season in the 19th minute of play off an assist from Nicole Ebner.

Allyson Dyl's (Kearny, NJ/Kearny) netted the equalizer in the 63rd minute of the second half, eventually forcing an extra period of play.

In overtime, the Penmen would take three shots with the final one coming off the foot of Teixeira for the game-winner.

Pace goalkeeper Monique Morey (Port Orchard, WA/South Kitsap) went the distance, posting five saves, while the Penmen's Stef Young stopped 10 shots by the Setters on the day.

Pace held the advantage in corner kicks, 4-2, while the Penmen led in shot 22-18.

Prior to the game, the Setters honored two of their seniors for the careers in a Pace uniform. Senior Casey Melilli (Poughkeepsie, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) has seen action in 52 career games, totaling five points and earlier this season, she netted the game-winning goal in the Setters' 3-1 victory over American International. The second senior was Tiffany Robinson (Shelton, CT/Shelton), who despite missing the entire 2008 season due to an injury ended her career at Pace tied for eighth all-time in school history in points with 24.

The Setters returns to action on Tuesday, October 28 when Pace travels to Albany, NY to square off against the College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 action and the Setters' season finale. The game is scheduled for a 3:45 pm start.
