WOMEN'S SOCCER ENDS SEASON WITH LOSS TO #25 SAINT ROSE
LATHAM, NY- The Pace women's soccer season ended this afternoon with a 3-1 loss to #25-ranked College of Saint Rose in Northeast-10 Conference action. The Setters wrap up their season with a 2-13-2 record and 2-12-0 NE-10 record, while the Golden Knights improve to 14-3-1 and 11-2-1 in conference play.
The Golden Knights struck first as Christina Cuffari netted the game's first goal in the 34th minute off an assist from Jaclyn Evans.
Cynthia Mendoza (Costa Mesa, CA/Costa Mesa) tapped in a deflection off the cross bar for the equalizer in the 71st minute of play to knot the score at one.
Saint Rose retook the lead in the 77th minute as Jordan Bowers gave the Golden Knights a 2-1 lead. Derith Fernades would tack on an insurance goal three minutes for a 3-1 score.
Pace goalkeeper Monique Morey (Port Orchard, WA/South Kitsap) went the distance, posting 13 saves. For Saint Rose, Shannon Murphy kept the Setters off the board in the first half, while Jillian Lyons finished out in the second half, allowing one goal.
