WOMEN'S SOCCER ANNOUNCES 2009 RECRUITING CLASS

PLEASANTVILLE, NY- Pace University head women's soccer coach Sarah Dwyer-Shick has announced her incoming recruiting class for the 2009-10 academic year. "The incoming class brings both the experience and talent that will help us to once again compete in the NE10," said Dwyer-Shick, who enters her second season with the Setters in the fall. "I have enjoyed getting to know them through the recruiting process and look forward to working with in the coming years."

Meghan Tremblay (Shrub Oak, NY) is an explosive, technical player who currently plays for the Middlepath FC Extreme team that won the 2009 Jefferson Cup. Middlepath FC is currently undefeated in Northeast Regional Premiere (NERP) League play. A former member of the Eastern New York State Olympic Development Program (ODP), Tremblay spent time in the Regional Pool. She was a member of the Empire State Games Scholastic Women's Team. A soon to be graduate of Lakeland High School, Tremblay can play on either side of the field and is expected to make an immediate contribution to the program.

Olivia Mapplethorpe (Wilbraham, MA) comes to Pace from 2008 Massachusetts Division I state champion Minnechaug Regional High School. Mapplethorpe is currently a member of the regionally competitive FC Stars of Massachusetts team.  Prior to joining the Stars in 2008, she was a member or the Junior Pioneers. While Mapplethorpe was with the Pioneers, the team was a 2006 State Cup finalist, a 2005 State Cup Semi-Finalist and 2004 Jefferson Cup Champions.  Mapplethorpe is expected to quickly become a fixture in the Setters' midfield.

Courtany Hagen (New Paltz, NY) is a native of the Hudson Valley and was a four-year starter for New Paltz High School.  She currently plays for the Middlepath FC Hawks. As the goalkeeper for the Hawks, the team won the 2009 Orange and is currently undefeated in NERP league play. A natural athlete, Hagen will complement and add depth to the Setters in goal.

Seanna Wright (Poughkeepsie, NY) is a native of the Hudson Valley. Wright grew up playing for the LaGrange Soccer Club and was a member of the 2008 Sectional Champion Arlington High School team. She has spent time on the Eastern New York ODP team. Wright is comfortable with both her right and left. This versatility, coupled with her tremendous work ethic, make Wright a threat anywhere on the field.

Taliza Costanzo (Otisville, NY) comes to Pace as a two-sport standout from Minisink Valley High School where she played both soccer and softball. She has played for the Eastern New York State ODP team and currently plays for the Nirvana 91's. Costanzo, a four-year honor roll student, led her high school team in goals and assists in both her junior and senior years. She is a natural athlete and is expected to become an integral part of the Pace soccer program.

Mary Lynch (Mahopac, NY) led Mahopac High School in both goals and assists as a senior. Lynch, an all-around player, currently plays for the Eastchester Patriots 91's. The Patriots play in the Eastern New York Premier league and have compiled a successful tournament record. In 2008, the Patriots went undefeated in the Walkill Fall Showcase and were the champions of the 2008 Gaithersburg (Md.) Discovery Cup. Lynch will impact the Setters in a number of positions on the field in the fall.

Larisa Posada (Clifton Park, NY), comes to Pace from Shenendehowa High School where she earned Best Defensive Player honors. While a member of the Eastern New York ODP team, Posada traveled with the team to Iceland and Sweden. She has played for the Clifton Park Club and will play Super Y with Blackwatch this summer. Posada will strengthen the Setter defense and add depth to the program.
